Nibela Lake Lodge blends seamlessly into forest surrounding, overlooking the expansive St Lucia estuary. Eleven thatched timber chalets are situated beneath a magnificent canopy of trees, and are connected by wooden walkways, raised high above the cool forest floor. Private and secluded, guests are able to enjoy the solitude and tranquillity of Africa at its best.
There is also a multitude of leisure activities available on the property so you can take full advantage of the serenity on your doorstep. From quad biking, game viewing, boat trips, and fossil walks, to bird watching and spa treatment, there’s something for everyone at Nibela.
The main lodge hosts the Lakeview restaurant as well as a comprehensive bar and outdoor deck, which is ideal for sun downers or after-dinner milkshakes. The Lakeview restaurant boasts exquisite views of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, and offers mouth- watering homemade dishes. At Nibela, we know the importance of a good breakfast and we ensure a solid start to every day with continental and hot breakfast options. The deli-style lunch menu has an array of sandwiches, salads and pizzas while dinner is comprised of a three course meal of authentic tastes and flavours. Kiddie’s meals and vegetarian options are also available on request. With only the multitude of bird species breaking the silence of the tranquil surroundings, this Hluhluwe restaurant is a wonderful setting for relaxing into a delicious meal.

Directions: FROM JOHANNESBURG:
Follow the route through Bethal, Ermelo and Piet Retief then through Pongola taking the N2 South bound to Hluhluwe.
FROM DURBAN:
Follow the N2 North bound to Hluhluwe.
FROM HLUHLUWE:
(Note: The Engen Garage is the last petrol station, it is suggested that you fill-up.)
(Note: From Engen to the railway crossing it is 2.3km.)
Travel through Hluhluwe town, at the fourth (4) traffic circle turn left, then travel a bit and turn right crossing over the railway tracks, you are now on the R22 Sodwana Road.
(Note: On the R22 Sodwana road, you will travel for 25.4km before you have to turn.)
Be on the lookout for a Green Nibela and Sobhengu sign on your right, as well as a small white road sign L554 on your left. Turn right onto the dirt road at those signs, you are now on the L554.
(Note: From the L554 to where the road splits it is 4km.)
Travel on the L554 dirt road till it splits into three. Turn at the most right road passing through the Nibela tuck shop and local bottle store where there is a Green Nibela and Sobhengu sign, as well as a small white road sign L542, once you turned you are on the L542 road. (Note: From the split to the T – junction it is 5km.) Travel on the L542 to the T – junction and turn right at the Green Nibela and Sobhengu sign, you are now on the D675. Travel on the D675 for 13km, the road ends at the Nibela and Sobhengu gate. At the gate please dial 10 for reception or dial 20 or 19 before 07h00 or after 21h30. Inside the property please follow the Reception signs to Reception for check in at Nibela and Sobhengu and to receive your keys and instructions to your unit.
