In celebration of Tourism Month and this year’s theme, “Tourism and Peace – 30
Years of Connecting People to Places and Cultures,” KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) invites

creating meaningful connections between people, places, and history. In KZN, the

As Women’s Month approaches, we take pride in celebrating the remarkable achievements of
women who have made significant contributions to various industries. One such inspiring figure
is Fezile Nzuzu, the founder of Ixperience Travel and Tours. Her journey and dedication in the
tourism sector exemplify resilience, innovation, and leadership.
As we approach Women’s Month, it is a time to honour and celebrate the incredible contributions
of women across various industries. The tourism sector, in particular, has seen remarkable
leadership and innovation from women who are passionate about providing unforgettable
experiences for travellers. One such inspiring figure is Nolwazi Moepeng, the owner of El Sali
Guest House, formerly known as Abbot’s Cove BnB, located in the picturesque town of Hilton,
Pietermaritzburg.
June is a month of reflection and celebration for South Africa, especially as we honour Youth
Day on June 16th. As part of this celebration, KZN Tourism & Film Authority (KZNTAFA),
formerly known as Tourism KZN is proud to profile youth entrepreneurs who are making
significant strides in their communities. One such entrepreneur is Philisiwe Gumede, the
visionary behind Cynthia’s Hive Estate in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal.
In celebration of Youth Month, KZN Tourism & Film Authority, formerly known as Tourism KZN,

Tourism KwaZulu-Natal in partnership with Durban Tourism and Ushaka Marine World will be
promoting Durban- KwaZulu-Natal as a must visit holiday destination to thousands of travelers
from 60 nations at this year’s MTN Bushfire music festival in Malkerns Valley eSwatini at the
weekend (Friday 31 May to Sunday June 2)
Tourism investment opportunities worth at least R9.4-billion with the potential to create
over 3000 temporary jobs during construction and over 3000 permanent jobs were
revealed during the keynote address that was delivered on behalf of MEC for
Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Mr Siboniso
Duma, by MEC for Health, Ms Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu, at a breakfast hosted by
Tourism KwaZulu-Natal at the Africa Travel Indaba this morning.
