KZN CONVENTION BUREAU

The Durban KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau is an independent body dedicated to promoting and marketing the regions’ many business events facilities, capabilities and assets, both nationally and internationally.

Committed to transforming Durban KwaZulu-Natal into South Africa’s premier meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions destination, the Convention Bureau provides organisers and planners as well as business tourists with the latest information, unbiased advice and assistance.

This entity provides the following business events support services together with its partners:

PRE AND POST BID ASSISTANCE

We will assist in putting together the bid documents in response to international associations bid guidelines and bidding proposal invitation requirements.

CONGRESS/CONVENTION PLANNING SUPPORT

Our team will happily assist with researching shortlists of suppliers for all aspects of your congress/ convention including audio-visual requirements, catering, entertainment, accommodation and transport as well as sourcing a list of venues that meet you needs and budget. We can also do site inspections of the various venues and give detailed feedback.

ENGAGEMENTS WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS

Another key role of the Bureau is to facilitate engagements with tourism and other key stakeholders in our destination and provide innovative ideas and suggestions, which will enhance business events facilities or services in Durban and KwaZulu-Natal.

BID PRESENTATION ASSISTANCE

As with the above requirement we are happy to provide our services to local associations with regard to destination marketing promotional material that may be needed for the bid presentation.

SITE INSPECTIONS AND EDUCATION TRIPS

The Durban KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau will assist with bid site inspections, as well as managing site inspection itineraries and co-ordination of meetings and a destination familiarisation experience.

PRE AND POST-TOURS AND SOCIAL EVENTS

The Bureau can provide your association with a list of pre and post tour excursions and we are well equipped to help plan delegate’s itineraries and provide marketing collateral while offering relevant on-site event support and assisting meeting planners to create a unique experience. We can also give detailed information regarding entertainment options for social interaction during and after the meeting has taken place.
