SPION KOP

There’s something for both the historian AND the football fan at ‘Spy Hill’ or ‘Spion Kop’ as it’s known. It was the Second Anglo-Boer War and by January 1900, the British General Buller had failed in his two previous attempts at relieving the then Boer-besieged town of Ladysmith. On his third attempt, the Lancastiran brigade
